Gunmen have again attacked the people of Pyem Chiefdom, of Mangu LGA in Plateau State.
The attackers who came in the early hours of Sunday attacked the residence of an elder statesman and community leader of Angwan Baraya, Baba Yarima Jabil of Jannaret Ward in Gindiri District.
They shot the elder statesman who eventually survived it but is in bad shape and has been hospitalized. Sadly, his son who was shot too did not survive.
The armed bandits Abducted the wife of the victim. No contact has been made as of the time of filling in this report.
“Baba Yarima is a respected and great community leader, who has groomed his children to top educational positions in the state,” a member of the community said.
Amongst his children are Prof Y.Y Jabil of the famous University of Jos, Dr I Jabil Deputy Provost NVRI Vom and Dr Angel Jabil of the University of Jos.
Yet another sad occurance took place again in Washna Village of Panyam District, Mangu LGA where two women were abducted. Victims include Malama Hanatu Audu Washna, who is the mother of Barrister Danladi Audu Washna, a principal officer in the Nigerian parliament, the National Assembly, Abuja.
