The Adamawa Muslim Council has advised well-to-do individuals to assist less privileged persons during and after the month of Ramadan fasting.

Malam Gambo Jika, the council’s Chairman gave the advice when he spoke with our Correspondent in Yola.

He called on the well-to-do to assist those who do not have during this fasting period to earn rewards.

He said When you give a fasting Muslim something to break his or her fast, you are sure of getting rewards from God.

Jika also urged traders to desist from inflating the prices of goods, but to reduce prices for divine blessings.

According to him, price increases to accumulate wealth is against the dictates of Islam.

Bashir Tahir stressed that the Ramadan fasting period is the time that people should cushion the effects of hardship on others for rewards and blessings.

Tahir urged clerics delivering Ramadan lectures to adhere strictly to the tenets of Islam and to shun the use of hateful words that could incite conflagration.
