Shelleng, Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri joined hundreds of Muslims at the Shelleng local government Eid ground on Sunday to observe the two raka’at supererogatory prayers in celebration of the 2024 Eid-El-Kabir.
Chief Imam, Lalwanu Dankaka, in his sermon, emphasised the importance of slaughtering healthy animals for sacrifice, adhering to the traditions of Prophet Muhammad.
The Chief Imam also offered special prayers for peace and tranquillity in the country before symbolically slaughtering his ram, urging all capable Muslims to do the same.
Governor Fintiri in his address, encouraged Muslims to celebrate by fostering peace and unity and following the virtues of Prophet Muhammad.
He expressed optimism that the current security challenges in the country would soon be resolved and called for continued promotion of peaceful coexistence and tolerance.
