Xabi Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, is optimistic Before the end of the year, Victor Boniface will play for the team once more.
Boniface is anticipated to miss time owing to a thigh injury he acquired while on international duty this week.
The Nigerian international is not expected to play again this year, according to reports in the German media.
However, Alonso has stated that there is a possibility the striker will return to action in 2024.
“He (Boniface) has a small injury in his thigh muscles,” Alonso told a press conference.
“But it won’t be for six to eight weeks. We hope that he can play again this year. We now have to wait and see how he recovers.”
This season, the forward has played in 15 games for Die Werkself in all competitions, tallying eight goals and one assist.
